Can you remember the last time you were trying to learn something? Do you recall the back and forth you did with notes, websites, videos or books to learn the content? Not to mention the conversations that you stumbled through and over as you tried to explain what you were learning!
A year or so ago, became a follower of a plant-based diet (AKA vegan) and because of this, I am constantly learning to make new dishes. It is like culinary a whole new world has opened up to me. However, this has left me somewhat disappointed. I have been cooking for +18 years and sometimes I now feel like I don’t know anything about cooking. This is of course not true, but what is driving this ‘feeling’ is the lack of practice and a degree of mastery.
Following a new way of eating has, of course, opened my eyes to new ‘food’ to eat and new ways of preparing food, but also reminded me that it is never too late to learn something new, it is never too late to move out of your comfort zone, and it is okay to feel the uncertainty or as others might say “feel the fear and do it anyway”.
Finally, and most significantly when learning something new: be inspired by others who have had more practice than you, be encouraged by those who are learning alongside you and most of all compare yourself to what you consider is the best version of yourself, only.

Go well and learn something new today.
